Phoenix Park Bike Rides

Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Phoenix Park is one of the largest walled city parks in Europe and for two years or so, we were lucky enough to live a stone's throw away from it.  It was a place for walks, runs, picnics, photographs and long cycles.  Our affectionately adopted backyard.

Nearly 30% of it is covered in trees and reading this bio , learning that a herd of Fallow deer have lived in the park since the 1660's is just a reminder that no matter how familiar, there is always more to learn.  And if you've ever happened across these guys hidden under shade or out grazing- it somehow always holds you captive for a while.DSC_0099
It's been a long while since I've been back cycling here and renting a bike to explore it all over again was just the thing this afternoon called for.

It is mighty out there today friends! DSC_0100
A little snippet video of my usual giddiness here on Instagram.   (Rental bikes are from 5 euro at the main gate.)
