Christmas eve

Holiday prep this year was fuss-free at Firas's apartment.  One trip to the market a few hours before, a fresh ham for collection (the only planned portion of events) and four of Ajda's pretty fool-proof recipes for the kitchen.  Red cabbage and apple chutney, roasted brussels sprout with parsnip and cranberries, potatoes boulangere with rosemary and thyme and quite possibly the easiest glazed ham.

We traded in dessert for red wine and tea, lazed over music and movies and now I'm hoping big holiday meals are always as low-key as this.

Also, and at the risk of sounding awfully cheesy; low-key or all out glam, I hope it's a beautiful Christmas time for you dear reader.
