picisto-20131012031457-201806 Year end posts are always interesting to compose.  Finding the right words for a light-hearted, inspiring, funny, melancholy, truthful summary is just a tricky task.  Especially this year, with this situation and the aftermath of a new direction easily becoming all this year was for me.  Thankfully, this little place on the internet reminds me that a break-up, a new apartment and lots of other happenstances are still (in the grand scheme of all that is) an opportunity to learn to be stronger and more patient with myself and those around me.

Seeing this quote by Paulo Coehlo on Shoko's blog today was just what I needed to read going in to the new year: You will never be able to escape from your heart. So it is better to listen to what it has to say.
IMG_6810 As much as this blog stood quiet, today it still reminds me of how much this year has given: an opportunity to travel to Prague, Shaftesbury, London, Houston, Amsterdam and Paris.  An opportunity to contribute photography/words to Decor8, Image, Bash, Interiors and Living, Food&, Visit Dublin and Kinfolk.  Time to grow steadfast in friendships with some of the most incredible people I have ever known.  And most importantly, the gentle reminder at the years end to still realise how lucky we all are to have as much as we do.

[edit update: rang in the new year at the apartment, with a little head cold, laryngitis and wine in a coffee mug-so know it's only big things for me this year ;) Hope you all had safe, happy ones. ]
