We are social

DSC_0964 Confession: I danced the running man in the middle of a bathroom with Holly Becker minutes before her keynote speech at the imm Cologne panel.

If I haven't said this before- Holly is the real deal. She is one of the most encouraging, talented and sista-got-yo-back type women I've met in the blogosphere. And I don't think there was a better person to bring a group of talented, inspiring people together for an honest discussion than her.
DSC_0956 DSC_0963 (1) DSC_0961 DSC_0959 DSC_0962 (1) Among the many things I took away from this panel :

Be original.
Promote yourself once, promote others twice.
Never lose your standards.
Trust follows you.
Be passionate about your work. And consistent in that pattern.
Take responsibility for what you produce.
Collaborate to expand.
Stop thinking campaigns and start thinking conversations.
Social media is a dialogue, not a monologue. Engage, engage, engage.
and always always, have fun!

I am just starting out in this little blog world, but I am infinitely inspired by people who create their own light and happy in their lives. To have heard their stories, geeked out over meeting them and seeing how wonderfully real each and every one of them were was a treat in itself.

I left Cologne feeling happy and full.

  6. Rincy, what a wonderful post. You are the cutest little bird I know and you are so talented. I mean' look at that pictures. You even make me look good :D

Only until recently blogging was an alone-at-home business for me. Of course I was "connected" to other bloggers via comments and facebook, but I'd never thought it'd be such an enrichement to actually meet them in real life. I'm happy I took heart and booked the bywstudio at Holly's house. I met all of you lovely ladies and it's one of the best things that has happened to me for a long time! Heart you!
